Welcome to REACH-A-Child™

Helping First Responders Comfort Children-In-Crisis

A REACH bag and books displayed on a table.

REACH-A-Child™ is a Madison-based non-profit currently partnering with First Responders in many communities across Wisconsin. This effort involves the creation of REACH BAGs which are then delivered to the offices of the First Responders. This takes time and money. As we aren’t selling the books or BAGs, we rely upon sponsors to support our program since local departments cannot include these costs in their budgets.

Our Mission & Vision

Very simply “to comfort a child-in-crisis with a book” is REACH-A-Child™’s vision. Whether the children are in an automobile accident, victims of a domestic disturbance or temporarily homeless, we help First Responders engage these children in a positive way through the power of a book.

See where REACH-a-Child is making a difference!

REACH-A-Child was recently honored to receive a very generous grant from the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Championship Foundation.  We are so fortunate to have received their support virtually every year since the AmFam Championship event began.  REACH-A-Child will use the proceeds to establish new first responder relationships in the northeast part of Dane County as we bring new children's books and backpacks to those amazing professionals.
